Student Content Policy

Durmah is an independent study service for UK law students. Your university, modules and uploads are optional context. A personal Google account is sufficient; no university email verification is required for the shared workspace.

Your choice of context

Start with questions or add your own module names, study details and selected material. Uploading is optional. More files do not guarantee better answers or grades. Share only what is useful for the task.

Permitted materials, without routine manual approval

You retain your rights in your work. You must have the necessary rights to upload, store and process the material with the providers used by the feature. Your access to a university portal alone does not establish those rights. Copyrighted material is not automatically prohibited: you may own it, have permission or hold an appropriate licence.

The shared service uses your explicit statement of rights and permitted use. Ordinary uploads do not need a staff review of every file. A statement is not a verified licence or university approval. Do not submit university passwords, confidential client information, restricted material or other people's personal data without the necessary permissions and lawful basis.

The current study-use declaration is tied to your selected task or material and can be reused for up to 30 days. A different task needs its own declaration. General material guidance is remembered during your signed-in browser session. These records cannot authorise a prohibited use or override a known restriction.

Learning and assessment

Check your current course, module and assessment instructions. Where they permit the requested assistance and external processing, Durmah can support your understanding and feedback on your own work. It must not write a replacement submission, conceal AI use or bypass assessment rules. A recorded restriction still applies even if you create a new declaration.

When rules are unclear, ask your course team before using the affected material or assessment feature. General explanations remain separate from a claim to know your exact syllabus. Specify the legal jurisdiction when it matters. AI can make mistakes and invent authorities; check primary sources.

Private study processing

You give Durmah only the permission needed to provide the study feature you request and necessary support, security and administration, to the extent you hold those rights. This does not transfer ownership or permit publication, sale, shared course packs, model training, fine-tuning or using your private material to answer another student.

External providers and authorised operational staff may process material for the service. Provider settings and retention must be checked before activation; this policy is not a promise of zero retention. See Privacy and current availability and processing information.

Problems, withdrawal and your records

Technical limits, file security, specific credible rights complaints and known restrictions may require action on an affected file or request. We do not treat a university logo or ordinary academic subject as proof of misuse. Contact admin@durmah.ai to request review of a problem.

Revoking a task stops future requests under it but cannot recall data already transmitted. Use your privacy controls for access, export or deletion requests. Activity records are not certificates of authorship, permission or compliance.

AI support, uploads, trial offers and purchases each depend on current service availability. Signing in or recording a declaration does not grant permission for a prohibited task or material.
